HISTORY
Crisis Management Department started in 1965 by opening the new section focused on social-science preparation of Military Faculty students within the University of Transport in Zilina.
Department of Social-Humanity Sciences was open back in 1990 as a reaction on the deep social-political changes in november 1989. New two-level education system for the military and the civil students was set up in a short time.
Social changes after 1989 called for change of military-science focus to specialised emergency management studies. Later in 1996, the name was changed on Department of Civil Security which garanteed new acredited study programme called "Civil Security."
The name of the department was changed one more time back in 2002 as a result of structural changes of the University education. Department of Crisis Management has been continually guaranting the Civil Security study programme.
